Alone time away together is crucial in any relationship. Not every getaway needs to be as extravagant/pricey as Hawaii, but I recommend putting something on the calendar each year and watch for travel deals. Also, use a date night to make a travel bucket list and use these yearly getaways to start checking those dreams off!

From Vegas, you can fly nonstop on Southwest Air to Kauaui. It was fantastic!
I booked our hotel and rental car through CostcoTravel, which basically gave us the rental car for free according to pricing if I would’ve booked through the hotel and rental car companies separately. I also got a Costco gift card sent to me in the mail after the trip. We stayed at the Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort Lihue, and it was so beautiful and a wonderful location. We had a lovely private beach/bay/cove and could walk to Dukes to eat (so delicious) since it’s attached to the hotel.
If you’ve never done a Luau, I suggest to go to one for sure! We went to Smiths Family Garden Luau, big buffet of food options and great show. The grounds were incredible.
Places to EAT-

Shave Ice of course! You can’t eat it just once either! Also, get it with sno cap (sweetened condensed milk) oh yum! I want one now!! they have them all over, this one in the photo is from an ice cream shop in the shopping center across from the hotel. you also have to check out Wailua Shave Ice in Kapa’a!

Acai bowls from Anake’s Juice Bar, it’s in the back of a little Market. Its located in Poipu, you drive through this beautiful tree tunnel drive to get there.
Breakfast at Anuenue Cafe, also in Poipu, you get to do this drive again. It’s order at a window, and find seating at the tables around the little shopping area.

We had a lovely dinner at Sam’s Oceanview, but I just saw it’s permanently closed. booo
The Plantation House was another delicious dinner spot!
We ate at Duke’s a couple times which was delicious! We happened upon a taco night that was soooo good! The outdoor seating is gorgeous.

Things to do- we love to schedule a couple chill days to sleep in and enjoy the pool and resort.
Luau- Smith Family Luau
Ziplining- Kauai backcountry adventure– lots of activity options with this company. We had such a great time!

Napali Coast- You must see this somehow! We went on a tour/ride with Capt Andy. It was fast and adventurous! we did the raft expedition, the water was really choppy the day we went. If you go in the summer, it can be clear as glass. My friend did the sunset cruise and loved it as well.

Waimea Canyon State Park- Hawaii’s Grand Canyon.

Make that bucket list and get excited! the planning and anticipation is half the fun!!
