#1-Read aloud with them to get them started. It won’t be long til they’re hooked!
#2- If you’re a few chapters in, and they aren’t hooked yet, let that book go, and try a new one.
#3-Try having them listen to the audio while following along. Some of these narrators do an incredible job bringing these stories to life!

House of Robots– Trilogy great for ages 8+
The Candy Shop War- 3 books in the series, Great for 8+
Magnus Chase Series– 3 books, 8+
Treasure Hunters Series– This series has 9 books!
FableHaven series– 5 books, 8+
*The Ascendance Series– There are 5 books in this one, we love the audio available in the Hoopla app through our library. Main character is 14.
*Michael Vey Series– There was 7, but I looks like and 8th came out last year. Main character starts out at 14years old and finds out he has special electric powers
#4- Read below their level so words and comprehension is not difficult and they can fully enjoy and become immersed in the story!
#5- Try graphic novels!- the key is helping them see that books and reading are enjoyable!
